Mark Mogler, Ph.D., Promoted to Harrisvaccines’ Head of Research
AMES, IOWA – January 4, 2012 – Dr. Mark Mogler, previously a Research Scientist for Harrisvaccines, has been promoted to Head of Research. Mogler was awarded a Ph.D. in veterinary microbiology from Iowa State University in December, 2012.
In his new role, Mogler will help direct development of new products, assist in trouble shooting scientific and production issues, and lead discovery activities to enhance new and existing products. He will also assist in identification of patentable research discoveries as well as help direct technical aspects of new product development.
Mogler began working for Dr. Hank Harris in the spring of 2004 as a freshman undergraduate student at Iowa State University. As an undergraduate lab assistant he helped with many of the pig studies that were being performed, and by the time he was a senior he had begun directing PRRS studies.
In 2007 Mogler graduated with a B.S. in Microbiology and became a graduate student under Dr. Harris. He joined Harrisvaccines as a Research Scientist in 2009.
“I have really enjoyed doing applied research. It is a very interesting and complicated technology we use for our vaccines,” says Mogler. “There are very few places where young scientists are able to gain the type of experience that I have received with Harrisvaccines.”
