AMES, Iowa, October 29, 2013 – Ames, Iowa-based vaccine producer, Harrisvaccines, today announced it has expanded its exclusive license agreement with AlphaVax, Inc. to include all companion animals diseases, in addition to all livestock animal diseases (swine, cattle, horses, poultry, and farmed aquatic animals).
, /PRNewswire/ -- -based vaccine producer, Harrisvaccines, today announced it has been awarded a grant from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) for Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV) research. This project is supported by Agriculture and Food Research Initiative Grant no. 2013-67015-21307 from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture.

As part of the Governor's STEM Scale-Up Initiative Harrisvaccines is partnering with Story County 4-H and HyperStream to create a brand new Technology club for 6th-8th graders. Harrisvaccines will be volunteering their time to be club leaders and help students with a project in Robotics, Game Design, and Multimedia. Club meetings will be the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 4-5:30PM at the State 4-H Office in Ames.
Dr. Mark Mogler, previously a Research Scientist for Harrisvaccines, has been promoted to Head of Research. Mogler was awarded a Ph.D. in veterinary microbiology from Iowa State University in December, 2012.
