The Harrisvaccines Animal Research Facility is located just three miles from the production facility. The building is complete with: a walk-through shower, sealed floors, garage door in the storage area, and a utility room with power washer, washer/dryer, toilet, sink, hot water heater. Here Harrisvaccines researchers perform pig safety studies and other validation research for USDA-licensed products and other research projects.

This building is divided into two rooms. Room 1 holds up to six farrowing sows or 40 nursery pigs. Room 2 is set up for 18 farrowing sows. The farrowing crates in the facility are capable of swinging up the sides and using the pen for nursery, which enables us to have approximately 108 piglets in a room.

Room 1 can be reconfigured with an additional 12 farrowing stalls and could have the same potential as two with the stalls added and the nursery pens removed. The research facility also includes a small nursery building that can hold 40 to 50 piglets.
