- Dr. Lyric Bartholomay, BS, PhD
Dr Bartholomay is an Assistant Professor of Medical Entomology in the Department of Entomology at Iowa State University. Her basic research endeavors center on innate immune responses in arthropods including mosquitoes and ticks that transmit pathogens that cause significant human and animal disease. Her research also incorporates the use of alphaviruses that produce a gene of interest in vivo in arthropods.

- Dr Dick Hesse, MS, PhD
Dr. Dick Hesse is the Director of Diagnostic Virology at the Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. He has authored or co-authored more than 50 publications, presentations, and/or patents. In addition, he has led the development of at least 12 USDA-licensed vaccines. Dr. Hesse's recent focus has been on vaccine development for PRRS and PCVAD (porcine circovirus-associated disease). He currently is interested in developing rapid diagnostic assays for zoonotic, foreign animal and emerging/re-emerging diseases.
- Madonna Carlson
Ms. Carlson's education was in microbiology at the University of Minnesota. Today she is a quality systems and regulatory affairs consultant with over 30 years of veterinary biologics experience. Since 2006 she has worked as an independent consultant for numerous U.S. and international conventional and biotechnology firms.
